This new 9,000 square foot multipurpose building includes a basketball court, stage, kitchen, student serving lines and new restrooms. It was designed as part of a master planning effort between the District and BCA. Upon the successful passage of the District’s bond by the community of Delhi, CA, rigorous design meetings with faculty, staff and the community members allowed the design team the ability to create a space to meet the requirements of the District and key stakeholders.
Although not a joint-use facility, the new multipurpose facility is designed with community use in mind. Two entry points were designed – one for students during school hours and another for community use after the school day ends. This design allows the District to monitor entry/exit for the different users at different times of the day.
The new multipurpose building at El Capitan Elementary School not only brings pride to the community of Delhi, it brings pride to the BCA team members who were honored to work with a great client.
