The North Natomas Community Center and Aquatics Complex for the City of Sacramento will provide the very first 50-meter, Olympic-size pool facility in the City’s history. Located in North Natomas as part of the Natomas Regional Park Master Plan, the Center will also feature a 25-meter warm-up pool facility, a zero-entry activity pool for children and a splash pad for water slide features. In addition to the aquatics complex, the facility also includes a 15,000 square foot community center that will feature the largest single-room center for community functions in the North Natomas region.
The combination of the two facilities allows for the interplay of community and aquatics events, including accommodations for special events that expand out onto the pool deck area in the evenings and for awards ceremonies associated with aquatics events to be hosted inside the community center during the day. The center would also be the home to Inderkum High School’s physical education programs and swim teams, as well as a venue for non-profit volunteer organizations such as DART. The facility is currently in design, with anticipated completion in 2020.
