Design Journal Magazine has announced the finalists for the 2012-2013 Awards for Design Excellence (ADEX). BCA Architects submitted five educational facilities projects for consideration, all of which were designated as finalists due to their focus on sustainability, elements of 21st Century Education and their safety initiatives. The five projects are El Capitan High School Project, Christopher High School: Phase 1, the Mendota Unified School District Master Plan, the Brea Olinda Unified School District Master Plan and Lincoln Elementary School in Anaheim City.
The Awards for Design Excellence (ADEX) program is the largest and most prestigious awards program for product & project design in the architecture and design industry. BCA Architects was required to submit information about each of their projects and the sustainability features that were incorporated into the designs.
“We are very excited that our projects have made it to the finals of the ADEX Awards,” said Paul Bunton, AIA, president of BCA Architects. “With all of our educational designs, we strive to take communities’ needs into consideration so that the project will benefit the students, teachers and parents. Receiving ADEX nominations reinforces the fact that our designs are making an impact.”
The winners of the 2012-2013 ADEX awards will be announced in the next several weeks.
