BCA Architects is delighted to announce the promotions of Brie Gargano, AIA, CDT, LEED® AP BD+C, and Michele Gargano, AIA, CDT, LEED® AP BD+C, to the position of Educational Client Leader. In this role, their primary responsibilities include cultivating and maintaining client relationships; leading K-12 and higher education projects; directing design teams of BCA staff and consultants; facilitating client meetings and workshops; as well as researching, studying and implementing new and best practices for BCA’s educational architecture market. Brie and Michele are experts in driving project scopes, schedules and budgets, and leveraging all the relationships they have built with clients, BCA staff, consultants and contractors to achieve success.
Brie is currently leading the capital program, which consists of renovations at ten existing campuses, for Twin Rivers Unified School District in Sacramento, CA. She is the Senior Project Manager for work at Santa Cruz City Schools where BCA is performing in the program management role for the District’s $208 million bond program, and will oversee design and construction administration on the implementation of multiple projects. For the past two years, she has been working with Winters Joint Unified School District in Yolo County, CA on the renovation of Winters Middle School and a phased transformation of Winters High School.
Michele is presently focused on leading projects for Chowchilla Elementary School District, Washington Unified School District in West Sacramento, CA and Round Valley Unified School District in Humboldt County, CA. She has been involved with Chowchilla Elementary School District since 2015 on the development of their District-wide Long Range Facilities Master Plan and is now engaged in implementation of their capital projects, which are being funded through their $7 million bond program. The work at Washington Unified School District consists of a variety of modernizations and improvements at nine of their campuses, where Michele is performing in a leadership role to oversee the total program. Additionally, Michele is leading the effort to design and build a new joint-use gymnasium at Round Valley High School that will accommodate use by the entire district and serve as a community use facility.
In all of these assignments, Brie and Michele are taking an active role in building strong relationships with their clients. This includes understanding their core needs, whether it be fundamental problem solving; design leadership or financial expertise; and developing an architectural strategy to guide them in achieving their goals.
Both Brie and Michele are California licensed architects with additional credentials as Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Accredited Professionals with a concentration in Building Design + Construction (LEED® AP BD+C) through the U.S. Green Building Council, and Construction Documents Technologists (a certification recognized by the Construction Specifications Institute). Brie earned a Bachelor of Architecture from Washington State University; while Michele achieved Bachelor of Architecture and Bachelor of Architectural Studies degrees, both from Washington State University.
