With the assistance of the Office of Public School Construction (OPSC), State Senator Mike McGuire and Assemblyman Jim Wood, the Klamath-Trinity Joint Unified School District processed an appeal with the State Allocation Board for funding of $10 million toward mold remediation at the District’s five campuses. This unprecedented appeal, which elevated the funding from rehabilitation status to replacement status, was made possible through the hard work of School Facility Consultants, BCA Architects and McCuen Construction, which proved that the costs to rehabilitate these facilities in Humboldt County exceeded funding availability due to the remote work conditions and inflated material and labor prices.
