Public Schools are the Big Winner in California Elections

Following the elections on November 8, 2016, California Public Schools are finding themselves to be the big winners of multiple local bond measures including the passage of Proposition 51, the State’s $9B public school facility bond. Overall, it appears the State also passed nearly $15B in general obligation bond measures this year as well. Among the clients that BCA assisted in passing general obligation bonds this year include the following:

  • Chowchilla Elementary School District – Measure J ($13M)
  • Huntington Beach City School District – Measure Q ($160M)
  • Bayshore Elementary School District – Measure S ($7M)
  • Santa Cruz City Elementary School District – Measure B ($68M)
  • Santa Cruz High School District – Measure A ($140M)
  • Winters Joint Unified School District – Measure D ($17M)
  • Klamath Trinity Joint Unified School District – Measure D ($6.5M)
  • San Antonio Union Elementary School District – Measure A ($2.1M)
